PMS and PMDD Real Help. Not Bandaids

This may be very common (about 85% of women suffer from this), but you CAN getrelief. Often with PMS, symptoms start about 1-2 weeks before your period. Signs and symptoms may include:

  • Trouble concentrating
  • Depressed mood
  • Crying spells
  • Mood swings, irritability
  • Food cravings
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Withdrawing socially
  • Joint or muscle pain
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Bloating
  • Breast tenderness
  • Acne
  • Constipation and/or diarrhea
  • Abdominal cramps, back pain

And the answer is not a birth control pill or antidepressant, both of which have side effects, can make things worse, and do not treat the underlying cause. A condition that is less common and often missed is something called Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, or PMDD. This condition is quite serious and even debilitating.

With PMDD you may feel hopeless and even have thoughts of suicide on a regular basis. You may isolate yourself. And again, the answer is not a birth control pill and/or antidepressants.

At Fit Logic Functional Medicine, we help you replace what is missing, including vitamins and/or nutrients or in some cases, bioidentical hormones. You don’t have a Lexapro deficiency. But you may have a progesterone or vitamin deficiency. Replacing what is missing can alleviate symptoms of PMS and/or PMDD for good without the side effects of an antidepressant.

Certain foods and lifestyle changes can help lower inflammation which will also alleviate symptoms and improve your quality of life! We have a team to help you with support and guidance. You do NOT have to suffer anymore!
